Kaiser Permanente Senior Manager, Behavioral Health Operations (Georgia Region) in Jonesboro, Georgia

Job Summary:

Acts as the strategic, administrative, and business line leader for managers and staff providing health care services in an assigned facility or department. As a business line leader, provides direct and matrix management. Works collaboratively with designated managers and service line leaders to ensure that standard work is fully implemented in the medical offices or department to optimize the patients care and service experience while achieving access, service, safety, quality, clinical and financial performance goals. Accountable for planning, implementing, and evaluating strategic initiatives which promotes safe, effective, efficient, and affordable care. Builds strong, accountable teams and collaborates with internal and external customers to meet or exceed performance and outcome measures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution and oversight of programs and strategic initiatives for assigned lines of business in alignment with the programs mission, objectives, policies, and procedures.

  • Strategy: Participate in the development of strategic plans, including collaborating with service line leaders on network expansion and internalized services delivered within the market. Lead the implementation of strategic plans, annual goals, work plans, policies and budgets in a way that is consistent with the business plans of KP. Establish and communicate program direction.

  • Responsible for creating partnerships with medical office administration leaders to implement process improvements related to customer service and provider relations.

  • Develops, executes, and monitors strategies that increase departmental performance against regional goals and targets.

  • Completes required research and analysis, decision-making, and problem solving to support projects and assignments.

  • Oversees departmental budget, financial planning/performance, and identified priorities. Link budget decision and resource allocations to strategic initiatives.

  • Maintains effective communication and collaborative partnerships with health plan leaders, medical group, labor partners, and other business owners to deliver quality care and services.

  • Ensures milestones and deliverables are consistently met with appropriate input and content; Communicates progress and issue resolution status to leadership.

  • Manages human resource functions, such as hiring, education/training, staff development, job design, performance management, labor relations, and discipline.

  • Develop leadership team and direct reports to increase their overall effectiveness and value to the company.

  • Identifies structures and processes to bring the department into compliance with accreditation standards, NCQA, HEDIS federal, state laws and regulations.

  • Communicate and model the vision of the organization. Models service behaviors that align with Kaiser Permanente Principles of Responsibility (Code of Conduct).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum eight (8) years of health care or directly related experience.

  • Minimum four (4) years of direct management experience.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in business, healthcare administration, nursing, or related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A

  • Able to collaborate and be influential across structures and roles; able to achieve regional goals while helping others to accomplish divisional/organization goals.

  • Ability to select, develop and direct effective managers including those in a matrix relationship, or on project teams; record of positive relationships with providers, managers and staff that strengthen engagement, quality, and service.

  • Ability to manage projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of behavioral health experience.

  • Masters degree in behavioral health, nursing, healthcare administration, or business.

  • Demonstrated track record of success in operational management.
